New Lexington, OHIO (March 5, 2021) Scott Moore was selected by the Perry County Park District Board of Park Commissioners as the 2021 Chairman. He also served as Chairman in 2019 and 2020. Mr. Moore has been a member of the Board since 2017. He retired in 2015 after a career in mining out West and is the current mayor of Corning.

Theressa Kane was selected as the vice chair by fellow Board members. Ms. Kane has served on the Board since 1996. She is one of the District’s first Board members, having served on the Board since the Park District was created. Ms. Kane is the Executive Director at Perry Behavioral Health Choices in New Lexington, Ohio.

Other Board members include Jenny LaRue, Harold Gilbert and Tami McAdams.

Ms. LaRue has served on the Board since 2017. She is a Health Educator with the Perry County Health Department and is the coordinator for the Creating Healthy Communities program.

Mr. Gilbert has been a member of the Board since 2019. He is a lifelong resident of Perry County and works at UPS.

Ms. McAdams has been a member of the Board since 2019 and will serve as the 2021 Board Secretary. She is the Operations Administrator for the Licking Park District in Granville, Ohio.

The mission of the Perry County Park District Board is to acquire, manage, preserve and conserve natural areas within Perry County, while protecting wildlife and local history in a manner that enriches our communities and provides access to diverse parks, educational, cultural, health and wellness activities.

Further, it shall promote and develop county-wide tourism, which will highlight the many varied local attractions. Namely, historic buildings & sights, significant religious structures and grounds, natural geographic occurrences, numerous prehistoric cultural mounds, gathering places in addition to municipal, county and township parks.
